Magdalin Laine

Author of Her Favorite Brother

Tell us a little about yourself

Hi! My name is Magdalin and I write dark and sexy novels. I was homeschooled most of my life, I’ve been drinking coffee since I was eight, and I’m currently renting out my friends closet in New York. Life is pretty good!

What prompted you to write your upcoming or latest release?

I started writing the Mia Thorton series for myself, thinking I’d never ever share it with anyone. But after the first novella was finished, I realized it wasn’t as shameful as I originally thought, and decided to see if anyone else would like it too. Surprise surprise, it turns out I wasn't the only one who had serious daddy issues! So it motivated me to keep writing erotic stories, but I knew I didn’t have it in me to continually write different characters for each scenario I wanted. It takes me a little bit to create fully fleshed-out heroines that I can care about and grow with. So instead of writing a bunch of standalone erotic stories, I decided that Mia Thorton would just have to be the kind of girl who gets up to a lot of trouble. And so she became the main character of all these different sexy scenarios. Each book of the series follows her, but she gets a new love interest every time. This third book, Her Favorite Brother just happens to feature TWO new love interests. A dark and dangerous brother-in-law and her sweet and overprotective stepbrother, mixing the spice and sugar together in this cute little menage.

What genre and tropes are in your upcoming or latest release? Why these?

Her Favorite Brother first and foremost features the stepbrother trope, as well as the brother-in-law (through her husband) trope. It is a romantic thriller with femme fatale themes, messy characters that are still learning, alphaholes, as well as a sweet golden retriever boy. Bickering stepsiblings, soap opera appreciation, and the mafia. This one technically has a HFN, but if you’ve read my previous books you know to expect twists and turns till the last minute.

If your main character had a day off, how would they spend it?

Mia Thorton has every day off since she inherited all the money she could ever ask for. She likes to spend her days shopping, doing hot girl things, and watching soap operas. Her favorite soap is a fictional series called The Lives That We Live. Before she was married, she enjoyed her life and body by going clubbing and sleeping with half the city.

Anything else you'd like to share with our readers?

Just like all of the books in this series have different kinks and tropes, they also have various triggers and content that might be upsetting. Please check the warnings at the bottom of the book descriptions. You can find more in-depth content warnings on my website for each book.

Mia Thorton is no good at playing wife.

When she meets her dangerous brother-in-law she knows she’s in trouble.

Giovanni’s eyes are set on her, and he won’t take no for an answer. Running from him sends her straight into the arms of her new and overprotective stepbrother.

Colton is irritating, sweet and more fun than she’s ever known.

It doesn’t take long to realize there’s no way to win this game.

But losing it could be just as rewarding.

**Warning for cheating, explicit scenes, forced pregnancy, the topic of suicide, stalking, pseudo-incest, noncon, dub-con, and violence.**

Magdalin Laine leads a boring life which is why she writes outrageous romances. Many of her stories start with favorite cliches and quickly spin into one scandalous situation after another. The emotions are always high, the intensity builds to a fever pitch, and readers should expect that anything can happen. If you're looking for a darker kind of romance in your life, then you need to read her books.

She enjoys rollerskating and making silly tiktoks in her free time.
